Are you looking to get your driveway redone? Not sure whether to go with Asphalt or Concrete? Here's a break down of the differences so you can make an educated decision.    Lifespan & Durability It is known that Asphalt is less durable than concrete. With proper maintenance and care it can potentially last up to 30 years. But, alternatively, concrete is a rugged, long-lasting option that can last in excess of 50 years with occasional repairs.   Maintenance & Repairs With Asphalt driveways, you should consider that there is a fair amount of maintenance that goes into keeping that nice functional look. Usually, 6 months to a year after the installation, an asphalt driveway should be sealed with re-sealing recurring every 3-5 years. With concrete driveways, degreasers are used for maintenance, and do increase maintenance cost, but are a necessity to remove oil, fuel and other stains that develop over time.   Cost Asphalt driveways are typically cheaper than concrete, though prices can fluctuate with the fluctuations of crude oil prices. A concrete driveway has a more consistent price tag, but fishes, details & stains can increase that price tag quickly.   So which option is best for you? Which option did you choose?
